Missoni ♥ Havaianas — Round Two!
Love is sweeter the second time around. At least that’s how we feel about Missoni and Havaianas collaborating for the second time. The first Missoni ♥ Havaianas collection was released last year and had reaped great success, everyone wanting a pair of the very limited edition flip-flops. Well, for the unfortunate ones who weren’t able to get their hands—or feet, rather—on a pair, here’s your chance to finally covet the flip-flops.
The second edition of the Missoni ♥ Havaianas 2012 collection is the marriage of Italian sensibility and Brazilian flair. Not only does it pride on the iconic Missoni wave patterns with Bohemian elements to add a vibrant twist, but the collection also showcases the two brands’ earnest relationship with nature.
Each pair of Missoni ♥ Havaianas is designed using residual rubber pieces from the manufacturing process, with the multi-colored Havaianas leftovers mixed together to create a unique sole. This is in line with the brands’ efforts in reducing waste, re-using and recycling of materials.
This collection, again, will be available in limited quantity and two styles (Slim and Top) with three print types, making it special. The Missoni Slim Rachel comes in vibrant Lemon with the Missoni zigzag design, slimmer straps and narrower-cut sole. The Missoni Top Fiammato and Top Patchwork come in a bold mix of red, white, black, and blue with a unisex appeal and somewhat, edgy vibe. Every pair of flip-flop is also packaged in a Missoni knit bag made of recycled materials featuring the signature patterns.
